2022 Annual Military Equipment Report


Military Equipment Use Policy

Effective January 1, 2022, Assembly Bill 481 ("AB 481") requires law enforcement agencies such as the Arcadia Police Department to have a Military Equipment Use Policy approved by the City Council prior to taking certain actions relating to the funding, acquisition, or use of military equipment, as defined by law. On April 19, 2022, the Arcadia City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2387 approving a Military Equipment Use Policy (“Policy”) pursuant to AB 481. Annual Report In compliance with AB 481 and the Policy, an annual military equipment report must be submitted to the City Council for each type of military equipment approved within one year of approval, and annually thereafter for as long as the military equipment is available for use. The City Council will review the 2022 Annual Military Equipment Report along with the updated Policy at the May 2, 2023, City Council meeting. Comments and/or concerns may be submitted in writing (contact information below) prior to the meeting. In addition, during the meeting the public will be given an opportunity to ask questions or provide input on the updated Policy.
