Wienerschnitzel Rose finalist

Last week Jaslyn Elders was named one of the 31 finalists for this year’s Tournament of Roses Royal Court of Queen and Princesses. The Arcadia senior has her sights set on being in Australia a little more than a year from now, attending a college that is run by a worship band called Hillsong United. In the meantime, on most Saturdays you will likely see her bubbly personality and big smile behind the counter at the new Wienerschnitzel hot dog restaurant at Westfield Santa Anita. <Story continues following the 2 1/2-minute video interview with Jaslyn below…>

Jaslyn says the job has been ideal and Ameet has been very flexible in allowing her to adjust her work hours around her many school, church, and community activities.

Ameet is very supportive of community and school projects that are important to his many young employees and is also supporting this Friday’s community event called One Community, One Book, presented by Arcadia’s Best, with free hot dogs and chili dogs. And if he can find a spare a willing employee to put on the bigger-than-life-size hot dog mascot costume with a fan built-in above the head of the person inside, and if he can find a vehicle large enough to transport the get-up to the Masonic Center, he’ll even provide that free added attraction for a half-hour or so to entertain attendees of the program. But it won’t be Jaslyn inside there; the Rose Princess finalist says he already asked her about the opportunity” once, but she politely declined.

“I just enjoy wearing the regular Wienerschnitzel uniform,” she said with a chuckle.
