Tennis champ Wilander in Arcadia

The top tennis pro in the world in 1988, Mats Wilander of Sweden, was in Arcadia last weekend as part of his Wilander on Wheels (WOW) tour at the Arcadia Tennis Center at the County’s Arcadia Park. WOW delivers the fantasy of hitting with the former seven-time Grand Slam champion (plus an eighth title in doubles) in your backyard.

Rich Jones of the San Marino Tribune and a representative of the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce, attended the event and snapped the photo below. In addition to Wilander, also with Jones were Mo Ridaoui, Head professional at Arcadia Tennis Center; Dick Leach, USC Head Coach (1980- 2002) and Arcadia High School Head Coach (1965-1969); Rick Leach, former #1-ranked doubles player and none–time Grand Slam Doubles winner; John Letts,  iTennis owner/founder; Brian Teacher, Australia Open Winner 1981 and top 10 in the world; and Cameron Lickle, Wilander’s WOW clinic partner.
