Tay Citizen of Year; Costanza retires; Hoffman president – March 31 dinner

This year’s annual Arcadia Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year and officer installation dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at Santa Anita Park’s ornate Chandelier Room in the Turf Club, will have several levels of significance.

Sho Tay

Sho Tay will receive the Chamber’s prestigious Arcadia Citizen of the Year Award; Chamber VP Bob Hoffman of Merrill Lynch will be inducted as president, and executive director Beth Costanza will be recognized for nearly 12 years of service.

Tay’s honor is in recognition of his many years of seemingly inexhaustible volunteering with many local organizations, including the Chamber, most of which he has headed at one point, such as the Arcadia Chinese Association, the Arcadia Masons and Masonic Center, and next the Boy Scouts. He has also served on the boards of the Red Cross and currently serves on the boards of the Arboretum Foundation, the Arcadia Historical Society, and Arcadia’s Best Foundation. He was next in line to become Chamber president last year until he had to step down to run for City Council.

Tickets for the event are $65 per person — rsvp by March 24 by calling (626) 447-2159; e-mail info@arcadiacachamber.org, or click here to order tickets at Chamber web site.
