Celebrating Hollywood History Saturday, June 30,10am-3pm

We celebrate the history of Tarzan film making at the Arboretum where Baldwin Lake and the surrounding landscape served as a stand-in for the African jungle in 12 classic Tarzan films. The Arboretum has the only surviving local “jungle” that can be seen in a number of classic Hollywood films. The jungle, a favorite site for visiting movie buffs and children, was seen in Katy Perry’s Roar video. The day’s festivities include:
Special screening of Tarzan and the Amazonsstarring Johnny Weissmuller
Tarzan and Jane cartoons from Netflix
Hollywood at the Arboretum walking tours
Jungle animals from Saving Wildlife International
Exhibit of Tarzan film posters and comic books
