More than 120 third grade students from Holly Avenue Elementary School helped celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day Thursday (April 22) by participating in a recycling project at the Disney Store at the Westfield Santa Anita mall and donating hundreds of cans and bottles to recycle.
Students and customers who brought in six plastic bottles or aluminum cans received a free Friends for Change hat made from six recycled plastic bottles. The hats were also branded with the logo for the new Disneynature documentary movie “Oceans,”
which the students were taken to see in the mall movie theater after helping at the Disney store starting at 9 a.m.
