SCHOOLS RETURN TO SESSION

Arcadia’s public schools returned to classes this week. As usual, we have deployed police to all school sites to assist with traffic calming education (and enforcement) and we will begin our

discussions with school officials and the PTAs to talk about any new measures we can take to make things safer for everyone. Of course, the parents driving in the areas are the most able to keep things safe, just by arriving a bit earlier, taking more care around pedestrians, and having some patience. Another thing parents can do is drop their kids off a bit further from the schools and allow their children to walk a block or two. This would disperse the traffic and reduce the crunch of vehicles immediately in front of entrances and would help children learn how to safely travel as pedestrians. (Said the guy that has no children and never had to get anyone to school on time)
