Rotary Partners donate $3,000

Arcadia Partners in Rotary announced donations of more than $3,oo0 during Tuesday’s (July 10) luncheon installation of 2012 board of directors and officers. Nineteen members and guests attended the event at Café Mundial in Monrovia.

Last year’s president, Julie Miller, announced the community gifts:

1. $1,000 contribution to Haven House which serves distressed families

2. $1,000 donation to Arcadia Parks and Recreation Camper Scholarships for two Arcadia students.

3. Two $500 college scholarships to highly-motivated Arroyo Pacific Academy students, one to Maggie Deagon going to USC, and the other to Max Daniel Johnson going to UC Berkley.

Arcadia Rotary Club President, Eric Barter thanked all the women for partnering with Rotary’s success this year. He also revealed he loves to cook and would be happy to fill that need if it arises. When asked, “Yes but (as a Ducks fan) will you cook duck, he said, “Yes!”
