While others are celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day, Arcadia Rotary Club will be staging a Monte Carlo fundraiser from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at the Arcadia Community Center.

Everyone is invited to the annual event for a night of fun, great food and games of chance. “It’s an evening of casino-style games such as Texas Hold ‘Em, Blackjack, Pai Gow poker and a roulette wheel with professional and entertaining dealers,” said Dr. Brad Miller, Arcadia Rotary Club president. “And all for a great cause.” Funds raised will help support club projects such as teacher mini-grants, leadership training for high school students, student speech and music awards and provide ongoing maintenance at Boy Scouts’ Camp Trask in Monrovia Canyon. Internationally, the club helps finance wells that provide clean water in eight countries and construction projects at Tijuana orphanages. Projects members have supported for the past 25 years. “Of course, the main thrust of Rotary since 1985 has been the eradication of polio with over $800 million raised to date and only a few countries still reporting cases,” said Miller. “The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has pledged $555 million to Rotary for the final push towards complete eradication – and you could be part of that success through your support of our fundraiser.” Tickets, at $75 per person and $125 per couple, include unlimited food, such as seafood and teriyaki steak kabobs, and initial set-up chips for your favorite game. Additional chips are available for purchase. Prizes include tickets to sporting events, a Westfield Santa Anita shopping spree, and more. “We will have a big spin for the grand prize of a 46” television,” added Miller. Dress code is open from relaxing Hawaiian attire to Las Vegas-style evening wear. “So come join us for an evening in Monte Carlo and have some fun while you help make our community and our world a better place,” said Miller. A special thank you to event underwriters Westfield Santa Anita, Post Alarm Systems, Sierra Auto Cars, Methodist Hospital of Southern California and restaurants The Derby, Matt Denny’s Ale House, and Opera.
