Recreation and Community Services Department Weekly Report

SENIOR LUNCH PROGRAM A total of 160 meals were served during the week of July 19. The senior lunch program is available Monday through Friday from 11:30am to 12:15pm on a first come, first served basis. SENIOR CLASSES During the week of July 19, walk-in and virtual classes had 198 students registered. Classes include Oil Painting, Line Dance, Multilevel Yoga, Strength Training, and Zumba. WEEKLY MOVIE Weekly movies are back every Wednesday! On Wednesday, July 21, Life of Pi played for 14 viewers. SPECIALTY CAMP - WEEK 7 From July 19-23 the City hosted two Specialty Camps, Famous Tennis Camp and Brit West Soccer. Both camps had strong enrollment, totaling 52 participants and over $11,500 in revenue.

SUMMER DAY CAMP – WEEK 7 During the week of July 19, 84 campers at Wilderness Park were surprised with a visit from the Arcadia Police Department, K-9 Officer Zoli and K-9 Officer Kaiser. Each week campers can enjoy a variety of fun activities, crafts, games, special guests, and much more. Summer Day Camp takes place at Wilderness Park, Monday through Friday, from 9:30am to 3pm.

SPORTS CAMP – WEEK 1 Summer Sports Camp began on Monday, July 19 with 45 campers enrolled. Sports Camp operates Monday through Friday, from 9:30am to 3pm at Dana Middle School. The program follows all protocols regarding social distance and keeping participants in stable groups. Every Wednesday participants can wear their favorite sports gear and the chance to win a prize for most enthusiastic!

SUMMER FUN ‘N PLAY – WEEK 7 During the week of July 12, 70 Summer Fun ‘N Play participants had a special visit from the Arcadia Police Department. Participants were eager to ask questions, take pictures, and get a demonstration of all the commands K-9 Officers Zoli and Kaiser can understand and follow.
