East Meets West Parent Education Club (EMWPEC) has actively served the San Gabriel Valley community for many years. On Saturday, 11/24, EMWPEC served the homeless at Lario Park, Irwindale. This homeless community sets camp at the riverbed, away from public sights, so many people are not aware of their presence. There are actually over 100 homeless that dwell in this area. The homeless individuals are all very polite and friendly. Many of them tell of heart-breaking stories that forced them into their current set-up.
Over 30 EMWPEC individuals showed up and brought Chinese food, American sandwiches, chicken, and ham for lunch on 11/24. All the participants enjoyed serving this friendly homeless community. Some homeless have lived in Lario Park for over 6 years, others just 6 months.
