More Taste than ever Sept. 22

There will be more to taste than ever at the 2014 edition of the Taste of Arcadia and Business Showcase at the Taste on Monday, Sept. 22, at the Arboretum.

A record 45 food and beverage vendors offering tastes for no additional fee include high-profile first-timers such as Benihana and Hai Di Lao Hot Pot with its noodle dance performer. And of course all the myriad offerings of entrees, desserts, wine and beer to satisfy every palate.

The record three Presenting Gold Sponsors for the non-profit Arcadia Chamber of Commerce’s biggest annual fundraiser are Westfield Santa Antia, Methodist Hospital, and BMW of Monrovia.

There are more than 100 vendors in all, including more than a century of cars. Among the unprecedented five car dealers will be the exciting new i-Series from BMW of Monrovia. Eight horseless carriages from the 1910s will also be on display as well as classic police and fire vehicles.

The entertainment stage will feature a live band playing swing and classic rock, and more of the popular Brazilian dancers than ever before in a carnivale performance. Food expert celebrities including Taste celebrity host Peter Dills will judge a Culinary Contest.

Attendees – there will be even more than last year’s record crowd of 1,300 — will also enjoy face/body painting and balloon artists, as well as a greatly enlarged Monday Night Football Lounge with big screens on the side of a 25-foot Airstream trailer next to an Airstream Interstate by Mercedes Benz, both decked out in colorful lighting, and surrounding a bar with comfortable couches in front of the TVs. All this for one admission price to the non-profit Arcadia Chamber of Commerce’s biggest annual fundraiser event that City officials call the signature event of the year.

Individual tickets are $50 for Arcadia Chamber members and $70 for non-members ($20 non-member discount codes available in various local publications). Tickets, which are $75 at the gate on Sept. 22, may be purchased at www.ArcadiaCaChamber.org, by calling 626-447-2159, or in person at the Chamber office at 388 W. Huntington Drive, Arcadia, 91007.

As always, $5 is donated from every ticket sold by pre-approved local non-profit organizations.
