June 10 Young Musician Concert by East Meets West Parent Education Club

East Meets West Parent Education Club (EMWPEC) recently organized a Young Musician Concert at the Monrovia Gardens Healthcare Center in City of Monrovia.   The concert was well-attended by the senior residents and their families at the facility. The residents very much loved the performances by the young artists.  Some of them were moved to tears because the concert reminded them of their youth, according to Sophia Chan, program director of the Monrovia Gardens Healthcare Center.  As one of its community outreach programs, EMWPEC has been sponsoring two Young Musicians’ Concerts annually since 2016.  Not only do these concerts help students improve their confidence for performing in public, but also give them opportunities to provide community service at local senior centers. With a focus on positive parenting education, EMWPEC will be hosting various summer social events for families to connect, share, and learn from each other.   The events in July will be a patriotic T-shirt art workshop at South Pasadena San Marino YMCA on July 3 from 4: 00-5:30pm, followed by the 4th of July fireworks and picnic party at Lacy Park, San Marino on the 4th.
