WHAT’S HAPPENING IN GARDENING Spring 2018 8 Thursdays / 9:30am – 12:00 noon / Palm Room – $140 for the series or $25 per class / Reservations or you may pay at the door. Each class begins with an open discussion which may or may not include: show & tell, current events, culture tips, pest problems, and introductions of new plants. The class will also include lectures or hands-on workshops from the following speakers. All classes in this series are eligible for Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) and UC Master Gardener Continuing Education Units.

April 12: Gardener Profile, with Patrick Craig Patrick Craig has been with the Arboretum for six years and is in charge of the Herb Garden, which contains medicinal, culinary, beverage, a knot garden, and California native areas in one section. The second in our Gardener Profile series, where we visit with Arboretum employees and learn what they do on an annual and quarterly basis to maintain their sections.(1.25 APLD CEU Credits)
April 19: Spring Blooming Plants, with Joe Brosius Magic Growers Production Manager, Joe Brosius is responsible for propagating and growing all plant material products and is a partner in the nursery. He will bring a wide array of plants from his nursery to show and tell. Joe is a past president of the L.A. chapter of California Association of Nurseries and Garden Centers (CANGC).
