Foothill Blvd in 1929

Foothill Blvd was originally named White Oak (1882) and was one of two routes that ran east to west through the region, the other being County Road (Duarte Road). White Oak connected Azusa to Pasadena and cites to the west. One of the first gas stations in Arcadia would be located on the south-west corner of Foothill and Santa Anita Avenue, and owned by Emil Boltz, a city councilman.
