The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of May 18 – 24, 2025. The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for this period:

Sunday, May 18
At 2:49 p.m., Engine 107 and Truck 105 responded to the 1600 block of Elevado Avenue
for a reported water leak. Fire personnel arrived to find a ruptured water main with a large
volume of water flowing downhill and utilized sandbags to divert water from homes to
minimize erosion and property damage.
Monday, May 19
At 6:34 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to the 100 block of West
Naomi Avenue for a person down. Fire personnel arrived to find a 26-year-old female
suffering from a head injury after being struck by a passing car. The patient received
advanced life support protocols including intravenous therapy, cardiac monitoring, blood
glucose testing, and was transported to Huntington Hospital for further treatment.
Tuesday, May 20
At 8:09 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident in
the 200 block of West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 68-year-old
female with a chief complaint of diffuse abdominal pain. The patient received a full medical
evaluation which included a 12-lead electrocardiogram, intravenous therapy, anti-nausea
medication, and was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.
Wednesday, May 21
At 4:47 p.m., Truck 105 and Engine 106 responded to a report of people trapped inside
an elevator in the 700 block of West Camino Real Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel
found a stalled elevator car with one person inside. Fire personnel gained access to the
elevator control room where the elevator system was reset electronically and were able
to extricate the occupant from the elevator car without injury. The occupant did not require
medical assistance and was released on scene. The elevator car was placed out-of-
service, and the property management company was contacted for repair.
Thursday, May 22
At 10:42 a.m., Engine 106, Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, Rescue Ambulance 106,
BLS 106, and Battalion 105 responded to a report of a two-vehicle traffic collision at the
intersection of Las Tunas Drive and Longley Way. Upon arrival, one vehicle was found
overturned, and the second vehicle was upright in the roadway. Los Angeles County
Sheriff’s deputies were on scene and blocked traffic in both directions. One patient was
transported to Huntington Hospital, and two patients were transported to USC Arcadia
Hospital for further treatment.

Friday, May 23
At 2:30 a.m., Engine 105, Engine 107, Engine 37, Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105,
and Battalion 105 responded to a reported traffic collision with a person trapped on the
eastbound 210 Freeway at Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel located a single
tractor-trailer overturned with one patient inside. Fire personnel worked to extricate the
patient from the driver side of the tractor without complication. The patient was
transported to Huntington Hospital for multi-system trauma. California Highway Patrol
remained on scene and coordinated the removal of the tractor-trailer from the roadway.

Saturday, May 24
At 9:39 a.m., USAR 106 and Battalion 105 responded to a reported mountain rescue on
The Lower Clamshell Truck Trail. Fire personnel arrived to find a 30-year-old male
experiencing a mental health crisis. Due to the remote setting, the patient was extracted
via a helicopter, received basic life support measures and stabilization en route, and was
transported to Huntington Hospital for further treatment.
