Fire Department Weekly Report - week of March 15 – 21, 2026

The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the
week of March 15 – 21, 2026. The following is a breakdown of incident categories
recorded for this period:

Sunday, March 15
At 5:32 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist
in the 900 block of West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a
15-month-old male patient who was suffering from a severe allergic reaction. The
patient received Advanced Life Support (ALS) at the scene, including oxygen, cardiac
monitoring, intravenous access, and medication therapy. The patient was
transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Monday, March 16
At 9:29 a.m., Engine 107, Engine 106, Engine 105, Truck 105, Truck 101, Rescue
Ambulance 105, and Battalion 105 responded to a reported residential structure fire
near the 300 block of South Second Avenue. Upon arrival, Engine 106 reported
smoke showing from a single-story structure and immediately initiated fire attack
and pulled a 1.75” attack line to the front of the structure. Engine 107 personnel
assisted Engine 106 with water supply and pulling an additional hose line. Battalion
105 arrived on scene and established command of the incident. The Arcadia Police
Department responded and provided traffic control for fire crews. Engine 105 was
assigned to fire attack due to the conditions inside and needing additional personnel.
Truck 101 was assigned to rapid intervention crew operations and to secure the
utilities to the structure. Rescue Ambulance 106 was assigned to medical group and
to assist with any support functions. Once the fire was knocked down, investigators
worked to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Crews remained on scene to
complete overhaul operations and identify any remaining hot spots. The structure
was evaluated by the building department and deemed unsafe for occupants. The
cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Tuesday, March 17
At 10:26 a.m., Engine 105, and Rescue Ambulance 106, and BLS 106 responded to a
medical incident near the 200 block of Oakhurst Lane. Upon arrival, Engine 105 and
Rescue Ambulance 106 found a 72-year-old male with a complaint of altered mental
status. Paramedics identified that the patient’s blood glucose level was too low,
causing the altered mental status. Fire personnel obtained a 12-lead
electrocardiogram, intravenous access, and administered dextrose to raise the
patient’s blood glucose reading. The patient’s mental status and blood glucose
reading returned to normal after a short time, and the patient was transported to
USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation.
Wednesday, March 18
At 1:41 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to the 1600 block of
South Baldwin Avenue on a medical call. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a 71-
year-old female patient who was experiencing an altered level of consciousness.
Paramedics assessed the patient and performed Advanced Life Support (ALS)
measures including oxygen therapy, 12 lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous
therapy, and glucose level monitoring. The patient was transported to USC Arcadia
Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Thursday, March 19
At 5:02 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident
in the 100 block of W. Huntington Drive. Fire personnel found a 53-year-old male in
cardiac arrest. Crews performed CPR and defibrillation. A pulse was restored and
crews continued Advanced Life Support (ALS) interventions enroute to the
Emergency Room. The patient was transported by Rescue Ambulance 106 to USC
Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation.
Friday, March 20
At 1:08 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to the 100 block of
Wheeler Avenue. Firefighters arrived to find a 49-year-old male with chest pain.
Paramedics arrived and initiated Advanced Life Support (ALS) protocols including,
twelve lead electrocardiogram, blood glucose testing, intravenous access and
transport to USC Arcadia Hospital.
Saturday, March 21
At 10:54 a.m., Engine 106 responded to the 200 block of Woodruff Avenue for a
report of down powerlines. Firefighters arrived to find powerlines from the power
pole to a home down. The area was evacuated and residents were advised to stay
clear of the energized powerlines. Edison responded to resolve the issues and no
further damage occurred.
