February 16, 2023COUNTY TO BEGIN HAULING SEDIMENT IN SANTA ANITA CANYON

Attached is a flyer from the County that was distributed throughout affected parts of the Highland Oaks neighborhood letting residents know about their planned sediment hauling operations in the Santa Anita Canyon wash near Wilderness Park. The County plans to remove mud, trees, and other debris that has accumulated in the debris basin this winter. For the most part, hauling will be internal to the County’s property, going from the debris basin to their sediment placement site (above Foothill Blvd). Generally, trucks will not need to take dirt and debris through the neighborhoods. Residents will see the County team coming in the morning and leaving in the evening. The work will be primarily using rock trucks to haul and those will stay on-site. Depending on how things go, the County might supplement the rock trucks with 10-yard dump trucks. If that happens, those 10-yard trucks will be coming in the morning and leaving at the end of shift only. The project will last about 4 months, depending on the weather.
