Drive out hunger tour

Donors of canned goods to help feed the hungry were treated to unusually pleasant cool morning air and the lovely acoustical singing of young Tamar Kaprelian in Arcadia on Tuesday morning, Sept. 1. Despite the nearby fires that had ashes descending like tiny snowflakes, the overall poor air quality, parents busy getting their kids to their first day of school, and the early hour of 7 a.m., people turned out to The Cheesecake Factory at Westfield Santa Anita mall to donate multiple canned goods to help Feeding America. It was the first stop on this tour of 30 cities in 30 days to help drive out hunger during Hunger Action month. Those who came with donations were given a coupon for a free slice of Stefanie’s Ultimate Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake and were serenaded with beautiful songs to acoustic guitar sung by recording artist Tamar Kaprelian, who will perform at all 30 stops on the Drive Out Hunger tour.
