Downtown Mixed Use proposals Aug. 19

Prior to the regular 7 p.m. Arcadia City Council meeting Tuesday, August 19, a Study Session presentation will be provided at 6 p.m. in the Chamber Conference Room at 240 W. Huntington Drive, Arcadia. At the regular meeting, the Council will consider asking Metro to allow public use of the Gold Line parking garage in advance of the 2016 opening of the light rail line and station.

STUDY SESSION (OPEN TO THE PUBLIC)

  1. a. Report, discussion, and direction concerning the development of a Mixed-Use project in the City’s downtown parking lot between Santa Anita and First Avenue (south of Wheeler Avenue). Recommended Action: Provide Direction

  2. Report, discussion, and direction concerning a potential Mixed-Use project at 56 East Duarte Road (southwest corner of Duarte and First Avenue). Recommended Action: Provide Direction

CONSENT CALENDAR

  1. Accept all work performed by Gentry Brothers, Inc. for the Sewer Main Structural Repair project and authorize the final payment to be made in accordance with the contract documents. Recommended Action: Approve

  2. Accept all work performed by Gentry Brothers, Inc. for the Sixth Avenue Sewer Capacity Improvement project as complete and authorize the final payment to be made in accordance with the contract documents.Recommended Action: Approve

  3. Donation of two new soccer goals for the Civic Center soccer field by AYSO Region 2 valued at $5,000. Recommended Action: Accept

  4. Purchase 2,676 acre-feet of imported replacement water from the Main San Gabriel Basin Watermaster for a total cost of $1,800,948. Recommended Action: Approve

CITY MANAGER ITEMS

Consideration of request to open the Gold Line Arcadia Station Parking Structure for public use in advance of the opening of the Light Rail Service. Recommended Action: Approve

  1. Set the Public Hearing date of September 2, 2014, for the appeal of the Planning Commission’s decision relating to new single-family residences at 1717 Alta Oaks Drive, 1350 Highland Oaks Drive and 1800 Wilson Avenue. Recommended Action: Approve

  2. Set the Public Hearing date of September 2, 2014, for the appeal of the Planning Commission’s decision relating to a two-story single-family residence at 1203 Highland Oaks Drive. Recommended Action: Approve

ADJOURNMENT The City Council will adjourn this meeting in memory of Arcadia Police Department employee, Lucy Martinez to September 2, 2014, 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber Conference Room.
