City, School, County Public Recreation Areas

There are perhaps more varieties of public recreation in Arcadia than most cities of its size.

And there are almost certainly more parks operated by the City and County, along with the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanical Garden, Wilderness Park featuring a nature center and hiking in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, and even the Angeles National Forest filled with spectacular hiking trails, waterfalls, picnicking, and the Adams Pack Station at Chantry Flat offering numerous moonlight hikes and live outdoor concerts and family activities.

There is also an extraordinary number of fun and educational recreational activities put together each year by the City through its Recreation and Community Services Department, Arcadia Public Library, and Arcadia Historical Museum and Arcadia Historical Society.

The County also operates one of the finest and most popular public golf courses in Southern California, Santa Anita Golf Course. The City owns the property that is leased to another golf course called Arcadia (Par 3) Golf Course.
