Brownies seek matching donations

A troop of 23 second grade Brownie Girl Scouts from Highland Oaks Elementary School is seeking matching donations to supplement their cookie sales fundraising drive to help restore the trees lost at the Los Angeles County Arboretum during the Dec. 1 wind storm.
Many of the Brownies were without power for five or six days after the storm. When the Scouts saw the video showing 300 trees were lost at the Arboretum, where they had all visited before the storm, they decided they wanted to raise money to help rebuild the Arboretum through The Tree Fund.
The Troop is seeking matching donations from businesses in Arcadia in order to give the biggest donation possible. The suggested amounts are: $100 for tree care; $500 for preservation/tree pruning; and $2000 for planting a new tree.
To donate, contact Amy Hargrave at ahargrave@ausd.net or 626 390-1372.
