The Arcadia Mounted Police Association was organized in 1950 by a group of businessmen. Its purpose was to assist the Arcadia Police Department by representing the city in parades and festivals, to establish a close relationship among horsemen of Arcadia, business owners, and numerous community organizations. The appearance of uniformed horsemen, riding their perfectly groomed horses in detailed formations made their participation in hundreds of parades throughout the area, a source of pride for all Arcadians.
Unfortunately, the program was discontinued. Perhaps one day it will be resurrected. We miss them!
