Arcadia’s First Church

image-11-14-16-at-9-23-pm

Arcadia’s first church was built on the northeast corner of Falling Leaf Avenue (Huntington Drive) and Santa Anita Avenue in 1918 and was named the Arcadia Community Church.

A larger church was erected on the site in 1923. In 1934 it was moved to First Avenue and Alice Street. As traffic on “Route 66” became heavy and the congregation grew in size, members felt the need to move to a “quieter” location. This was Arcadia’s only church for approximately 17 years.
