For the period of Sunday, October 5th through Saturday, October 11th, the Police Department responded to 1,044 calls for service, of which 110 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, October 5:
At approximately 7:35 a.m., an officer responded to the 1100 block of Highland Oaks
Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary investigation. The victim stated someone broke
into his work van and stole various tools sometime during the previous night.
Monday, October 6:
At approximately 8:57 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of
West Le Roy Avenue regarding a mail theft report. A witness stated she confronted
the suspect as he was stealing mail from a mailbox. An investigation revealed the
suspect, a 28-year-old Asian male from Arcadia, stole mail from several homes in the
400 block of West Le Roy Avenue. The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect is
outstanding.
Tuesday, October 7:
At approximately 1:41 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of
South Second Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The victim stated the
suspect shattered a rear window before being scared off. The suspect is described
as a Hispanic male, approximately 25 to 30-years-old, seen wearing a light-colored
hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and a blue surgical face mask.
Wednesday, October 8:
At approximately 2:24 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of
Hampton Road regarding a package theft report. To combat package and mail thefts
in the city, the Arcadia Police Department has deployed GPS tracking bait packages.
An investigation revealed a 31-year-old male from Riverside and a 41-year-old female
from Upland were identified and arrested for the theft from Hampton Road. At the
time of arrest, they were also found to be in possession of stolen identifiable
information. They were transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Thursday, October 9:
At approximately 7:51 p.m., an officer responded to Champs Sports, located at 400
South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft incident. The officer determined two
suspects stole 20 Nike jackets resulting in a loss of more than $2,500.00. The business
owner recognized the suspects from past thefts. The investigation is ongoing.
Friday, October 10:
At approximately 1:54 p.m., an officer responded to Enterprise Rent-A-Car, located at
120 Las Tunas Drive, regarding a vandalism incident. The officer discovered a male
transient damaged three rental vehicles. The 55-year-old male from Monrovia was
located, arrested, and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Saturday, October 11:
At approximately 10:44 p.m., an officer responded to Santa Anita Park, located at 285
West Huntington Drive, regarding a solo traffic collision. Upon contacting the driver,
the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from her breath. The 31-year-
old female from Fairmount Heights, Maryland was arrested and transported to the
Pasadena City Jail for booking.
