Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, May 3rd through Saturday, May 9th

For the period of Sunday, May 3rd through Saturday, May 9th, the Police Department responded to 1,001 calls for service, of which 127 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, May 3:
At approximately 12:48 p.m., officers were conducting extra patrol of the wash area
near Camino Real Avenue and 8th Avenue due to the area being known for transient
activity. They conducted a records check of a subject and discovered the 45-year-old
local male transient had an outstanding warrant. A search of the suspect revealed he
was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested
and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Monday, May 4:
At approximately 6:40 p.m., officers responded to a residence on the 900 block of
Paloma Drive regarding an audible alarm activation. An investigation revealed
unidentified suspect(s) smashed a rear window and ransacked the home. The loss is
unknown, but it appears that the suspects may have fled empty-handed.
Tuesday, May 5:
At approximately 6:38 a.m., an officer responded to the area of Huntington Drive and
Old Ranch Road regarding a battery investigation. The officer discovered an
argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend escalated when the male half punched
the female in the face. The 31-year-old from Los Angeles was arrested and
transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A records check revealed he was also
in violation of a domestic violence protective court order.
Wednesday, May 6:
At approximately 3:30 p.m., an officer responded to StorAmerica, located at 5630
Peck Road, regarding a commercial burglary report. The officer determined
sometime between April 28th and May 6th, someone removed screws to an interior
security grate and ransacked a storage unit. The loss is unknown at this time.
Thursday, May 7:
At approximately 10:30 p.m., an officer responded to the area of Santa Anita Avenue
and Foothill Boulevard regarding a traffic collision with injuries. An investigation
revealed a 26-year-old male from Pasadena was driving under the influence of drugs
and alcohol when he collided head on with the victim’s vehicle. Both drivers and three
total passengers were injured in the collision. A records check revealed the suspect
was on probation for carjacking. The suspect was arrested and transported to the
Arcadia City Jail for booking. Three of the injured parties were transported by Arcadia
Fire for treatment.
Friday, May 8:
At approximately 8:25 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of
Monte Verde Drive regarding a residential burglary report. The victim stated they heard
the suspect shatter a rear window and enter the home. When the suspects saw the
residents, they fled. Surveillance cameras captured the suspects fleeing in an older
model white sedan. The investigation is ongoing and no loss was reported.
Saturday, May 9:
At approximately 2:53 p.m., an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia
Police Department regarding a harassment report. The victim stated she continues
to receive tens to hundreds of calls a day from the suspect, identified as a 20-year-
old female from Alhambra. The suspect was instructed by Arcadia PD on May 5th to
cease the harassing behavior, but the calls continue. The investigation is ongoing.
