Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, March 8th through Saturday, March 14th

For the period of Sunday, March 8th through Saturday, March 14th, the Police Department responded to 1,000 calls for service, of which 108 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled
by the Department during this period.
Sunday, March 8:
At approximately 12:09 a.m., an officer responded to 7-Eleven, located at 1003 South
Baldwin Avenue, regarding a battery investigation. After a domestic dispute near the
store, the male half entered 7-Eleven, confronted a concerned citizen, and began
punching the citizen repeatedly in the face. The citizen was transported to USC
Arcadia Hospital. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 30 to
35-years old, 5’9” to 5’10”, with an athletic build and wearing a white tank top shirt.
The suspect and his domestic partner fled in a blue sedan.
Monday, March 9:
At approximately 5:48 p.m., an officer responded to Abernathy Insurance, located at
133 East Duarte Road, regarding a fraud investigation. The victim stated someone
stole a check, altered and cashed it. The name on the altered check is from Los
Angeles.
Tuesday, March 10:
At approximately 4:01 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of
Hacienda Drive regarding a burglary investigation. Sometime during the last month,
someone stole jewelry and precious metals from the victim. Initial findings suggest
the items were stolen by someone who had access to the home.
Wednesday, March 11:
At approximately 4:12 p.m., an officer responded to REI, located at 214 North Santa
Anita Avenue, regarding a petty theft report. Surveillance cameras captured the
suspect stealing a sleeping bag and fleeing in a red compact SUV. The suspect
appears to be linked to another recent theft from REI.
Thursday, March 12:
At approximately 5:58 a.m., an officer responded to the area of South Baldwin
Avenue and Naomi Avenue regarding an aggravated assault. An investigation
revealed a road rage incident resulted in the suspect shooting at the victim’s vehicle
before fleeing. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a silver sedan. The suspect is
described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 40 and 50-years-old, with facial
hair and wearing a light-blue baseball hat.
Friday, March 13:
At approximately 12:10 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of
West Camino Real Avenue regarding a burglary report. Sometime between 10:00 a.m.
and 12:00 p.m., someone smashed a second story window and burglarized the home.
They stole jewelry and weapons.
Saturday, March 14:
At approximately 5:15 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 500 block of
Workman Avenue regarding a fraud incident. An investigation revealed the victim’s
personal information was used by an unidentified suspect to apply for car loans and
credit cards without the victim’s permission.
