Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, March 1st through Saturday, March 7th

For the period of Sunday, March 1st through Saturday, March 7th, the Police Department responded to 1,041 calls for service, of which 104 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled

by the Department during this period.



Sunday, March 1:

At approximately 12:44 a.m., an officer responded to the intersection of West Foothill

Boulevard and Leandra Lane regarding a traffic collision. Upon contacting the

occupants, the officer discovered the driver appeared to be impaired and the

passenger was injured. The 48-year-old male driver from Santa Ana admitted to

consuming alcohol before driving. The occupants were transported to Huntington

Hospital for treatment. The investigation is ongoing.


Monday, March 2:

At approximately 11:08 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2800 block

of Holly Avenue regarding a theft report. Surveillance cameras captured a lone

suspect enter the victim’s open garage and steal a leaf blower. The suspect is

described as a Hispanic male of average height and build.


Tuesday, March 3:

At approximately 10:39 a.m., an officer responded to RC Drapery Inc., located at 115

La Porte Street, regarding a commercial burglary. Sometime during the previous

night, someone attempted to pry open the door. No entry was made and no loss was

reported.


Wednesday, March 4:

At approximately 8:56 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of

East Grand View Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. Between 6:00 p.m. and

8:30 p.m., someone entered the residence through an unlocked door and ransacked

the home. The loss is unknown.


Thursday, March 5:

At approximately 7:27 p.m., officers and Arcadia Fire responded to Dollar Tree,

located at 140 East Duarte Road. Responders located multiple trash fires in front of

the business. Upon their arrival, the suspect fled but was located. The 58-year-old

local male transient was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


Friday, March 6:

At approximately 8:04 p.m., an officer responded to Win Retina, located at 234 South

First Avenue, regarding a fraud report. An investigation revealed someone intercepted

a mailed check and fraudulently cashed it. The investigation is ongoing.


Saturday, March 7:

At approximately 11:00 a.m., an officer responded to 99 Ranch Market, located at

1300 South Golden West Avenue, regarding a theft from vehicle report. The victim

stated a suspect opened the driver’s door and stole her purse while a second suspect

distracted her. The suspects fled in an awaiting vehicle.
