Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report -Sunday, June 25th through Saturday, July 1st


For the period of Sunday, June 25th through Saturday, July 1st, the Police Department responded to 1,010 calls for service, of which 106 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.



Sunday, June 25: 1. At 12:43 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of West Magna Vista Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. Sometime between June 13th and June 25th, someone smashed a glass door and ransacked the home. They fled with the victim’s purse. Monday, June 26:

2. At 3:10 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1800 block of South Santa Anita Avenue regarding an attempted burglary. Surveillance footage captured three suspects attempting to enter the home. The resident was home at the time and scared them off before they could enter. The male suspects fled in a silver Dodge van.


3. At 4:27 p.m., an officer responded to 82 East Las Tunas Drive regarding a commercial burglary investigation. Surveillance footage captured a female suspect inside the business after she forced her way in, possibly by prying open the side door. The loss is unknown. She is described as a White female in her 30s with tattoos on her left upper arm.


4. At 6:06 p.m., an officer responded to 24 Hour Fitness, located at 125 North First Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. Four male victims reported their lockers had been broken into and their wallets and car keys had been stolen. The incident occurred between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.


5. At 5:40 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of West Leroy Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. Sometime between June 23rd and June 26th, unknown suspect(s) smashed a rear glass door and ransacked the home. The loss is unknown.


Tuesday, June 27: 6. At 6:50 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of South Golden West Avenue regarding a battery investigation. The victim stated a neighbor, a 67-year-old female from Arcadia, approached him and swung a bag of trash at the victim, hitting him in the head. The victim was uninjured, and the suspect was gone by the time the officer arrived.

Wednesday, June 28:

7. At 9:42 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of West Wistaria Avenue regarding an audible alarm activation. The officer determined unknown suspect(s) smashed the rear sliding glass door and fled without ransacking the home. The loss is unknown.


8. At 7:25 p.m., an officer responded to a parking lot at The Shops at Santa Anita, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a battery investigation. The victim stated she was approached by the suspect, a former friend of hers, who spontaneous chased and punched the victim in the back of the head. The victim was able to flee. The 22-year-old female from Arcadia was located, arrested, and transported to the Pasadena City Jail for booking.

Friday, June 30:

9. At 6:02 a.m., an officer responded to Quickly Café, located at 171 East Live Oak Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. Surveillance footage captured three suspects smash the front glass door and steal the register. All three suspects were wearing hooded sweatshirts and face masks.


10. At 12:03 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of Ontare Road regarding a burglary investigation. The victim stated someone shattered a glass panel to her rear door and once inside the home, the suspects ransacked the residence. No loss was reported.


11. At 12:22 p.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Donuts, located at 34 West Las Tunas Drive, regarding an investigation of an assault. A store employee stated the suspect, a known transient, began throwing rocks at the business and the employee when he was not given free food. The 52-year-old male transient from Monrovia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
