Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, January 25th through Saturday, January 31st

For the period of Sunday, January 25th through Saturday, January 31st, the Police Department responded to 940 calls for service, of which 135 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled

by the Department during this period.



Sunday, January 25:

At approximately 6:24 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 900 block of

South Fourth Avenue regarding a burglary report. Surveillance cameras captured two

suspects approaching the home before the video cut out. The home was

subsequently burglarized and the suspects tampered with the video system. They

fled in a dark colored SUV. The reported loss was two handbags.


Monday, January 26:

At approximately 11:05 a.m., an officer responded to a construction site in the 1000

block of Don Alvarado Drive regarding a burglary investigation. The officer

discovered a lone male suspect entered the site and stole approximately $5,000.00

worth of equipment. The suspect was identified as a 60-year-old male from

Pasadena. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


Tuesday, January 27:

At approximately 7:46 p.m., an officer responded to USC Arcadia Hospital, located at

300 West Huntington Drive, regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed the

victim had been hit in the face by an acquaintance. The victim was assessed and

treated and the investigation is ongoing.


Wednesday, January 28:

At approximately 9:41 a.m., an officer was in the area of Holly Avenue and Lemon

Avenue when he was approached by a citizen seeking help to locate a lost dog.

During an area search, the citizen located the dog and was bitten. Arcadia Fire

responded to treat the dog bite victim and the officer returned the dog to its owner.


Thursday, January 29:

At approximately 3:27 a.m., an officer responded to the 800 block of South Golden

West Avenue regarding a driver asleep at the wheel. Upon contacting the driver, the

officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his body. Through a series of

tests, the officer determined the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol.

The 47-year-old male from Pasadena was arrested and transported to the Arcadia

City Jail for booking.


Friday, January 30:

At approximately 11:31 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1700 block of

Louise Avenue regarding a burglary in progress. The victim stated two masked suspects

cut the power to the home and fled when she confronted them. They fled in a black

SUV. The investigation is ongoing.


Saturday, January 31:

At approximately 8:56 p.m., an officer responded to JCPenney, located at 400 South

Baldwin Avenue, regarding a robbery report. An investigation revealed a loss

prevention employee was bitten when they confronted the female suspect for

stealing. The suspect dropped the stolen merchandise and fled in a Toyota Venza.
