For the period of Sunday, January 18th through Saturday, January 24th, the Police Department responded to 924 calls for service, of which 115 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled
by the Department during this period.
Sunday, January 18:
At approximately 1:56 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of
West Duarte Road regarding a burglary report. Sometime between January 3rd and
5th, someone broke a window and ransacked a bedroom, fleeing with miscellaneous
clothing.
Monday, January 19:
At approximately 3:56 p.m., an officer responded to an office building in the 300 block
of East Foothill Boulevard regarding a theft investigation. Between January 17th and
19th, someone cut a lock to a container and fled with property. The exact loss is
currently unknown.
Tuesday, January 20:
At approximately 5:20 p.m., an officer responded to a parking lot at The Shops at
Santa Anita, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft from vehicle
incident. The officer discovered someone entered the victim’s vehicle by unknown
means and stole her purse. The suspect then used the stolen credit cards to
complete various transactions.
Wednesday, January 21:
At approximately 11:21 a.m., an officer responded to Moffett’s Family Restaurant,
located at 1409 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft report. The victim was
approached by the suspect who asked for directions, and while talking to the victim,
the suspect stole the victim’s necklace. The suspect is described as an Armenian
female, and the driver of the vehicle is described as an Armenian male.
Thursday, January 22:
At approximately 7:25 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 500 block of
North Altura Road regarding a burglary investigation. The officer discovered three
male suspects forced entry into the home, ransacked the location, and fled with
property. The loss is unknown. Surveillance cameras revealed the suspects fled in a
white SUV.
Friday, January 23:
At approximately 8:50 a.m., an officer was conducting extra patrol in the area of East
Live Oak Avenue and Tyler Avenue when they encountered a subject known for being
on Post Release Community Supervision. During the conversation, the suspect
admitted to being in possession of drug paraphernalia. The 37-year-old male transient
from Temple City was cited and released in the field.
Saturday, January 24:
At approximately 2:20 a.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Santa Anita
Avenue and Camino Real Avenue regarding a vehicle that had collided into a sign.
Upon contacting the driver, he admitted to being under the influence of alcohol.
Through a series of tests, the officer determined the 38-year-old male from Fontana
was driving with a blood alcohol content of .20%. The suspect was arrested and
transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
