Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, February 8th through Saturday, February 14th

For the period of Sunday, February 8th through Saturday, February 14th, the Police

Department responded to 959 calls for service, of which 100 required formal

investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled

by the Department during this period.


Sunday, February 8:

At approximately 10:31 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 500 block of

Camino Real Avenue regarding a mail theft report. Surveillance cameras captured a

light-colored Chevrolet SUV park in front of the home, the passenger exited and pried

open the mailbox, and then the suspects fled with stolen mail. The passenger is

described as a heavy-set male wearing a jacket and pants. A similar incident occurred

nearby in the 400 block of West Le Roy Avenue.


Monday, February 9:

At approximately 12:00 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of

Bonita Street regarding a battery investigation. The officer determined an altercation

between a boyfriend and girlfriend escalated and resulted in the male half hitting the

female in the face leaving her with visible injuries. The suspect was gone by the time

officers arrived. The 33-year-old male from Arcadia is outstanding as of the date of

this report.


Tuesday, February 10:

At approximately 2:44 p.m., an officer responded to Bank of America, located at 1234

South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft from vehicle report. A review of surveillance

footage revealed three suspects entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole

miscellaneous items. They fled in a white SUV. The investigation is ongoing.


Wednesday, February 11:

At approximately 10:12 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of

Cabrillo Road regarding a burglary incident. The officer determined unidentified

suspect(s) entered the backyard of the home and stole various yard tools. The

investigation is pending a review of surveillance footage.


Thursday, February 12:

At approximately 10:37 a.m., an officer responded to the 11800 block of Goldring

Road regarding a fraud report. An investigation revealed someone intercepted the

victim’s mailed check intended for the IRS, altered it, and deposited it.


Friday, February 13:

At approximately 12:05 p.m., an officer responded to a parking lot at The Shops at Santa

Anita, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a drug violation. The officer

discovered the suspect was seen inhaling nitrous oxide. The 24-year-old male from

Pasadena was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


Saturday, February 14:

At approximately 4:19 p.m., an officer responded to the wash area near North

Second Avenue and East Colorado Boulevard regarding a vandalism incident. Fresh

graffiti was located in the area. Additional graffiti was located nearby on Santa Clara

Avenue.
