Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, December 28th through Saturday, January 3rd

For the period of Sunday, December 28th through Saturday, January 3rd, the Police Department responded to 824 calls for service, of which 91 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, December 28:
At approximately 1:32 a.m., an officer responded to The Shops at Santa Anita, located
at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed
two acquaintances fought in the parking lot leaving one of the parties with injuries
that required him to be transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for treatment. A records
check revealed the primary aggressor and arrestee, a 33-year-old male from Covina,
gave the officer a false name, had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants, and was
publicly intoxicated during the battery. He was arrested and transported to the
Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Monday, December 29:
At approximately 8:18 p.m., an officer responded to LA Fitness, located at 1325 South
Baldwin Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary investigation. The victim stated
someone broke into his locker and stole his car keys, then burglarized his vehicle
with the stolen keys.
Tuesday, December 30:
At approximately 10:51 a.m., an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia
Police Department regarding a forgery incident. The officer determined that
someone forged the victim’s signature to facilitate a fraudulent title transfer. The
suspect then attempted to file the paperwork. The investigation is ongoing.
Wednesday, December 31:
At approximately 11:53 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of
East Norman Avenue regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed an
unidentified suspect shattered a rear sliding glass door and ransacked the master
bedroom. The loss is unknown at this time.
Thursday, January 1:
At approximately 1:26 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of
Cabrillo Road regarding a petty theft report. The officer discovered someone stole
the victim’s basketball hoop from their driveway sometime between 8:15 a.m. and
12:00 p.m. on December 30th. The suspects are described as two Asian females and
an Asian male. The investigation is pending a review of surveillance footage.
Friday, January 2:
At approximately 5:08 p.m., an officer responded to Mission Fuel gas station, located at
679 West Duarte Road, regarding a theft from vehicle incident. An investigation
revealed someone entered the unlocked vehicle and stole the victim’s purse from the
seat while she paid for her gas inside the business. The investigation is pending a review
of any available surveillance footage.
Saturday, January 3:
At approximately 3:41 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of
California Street regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed a lone male
suspect attempted to enter one residence and when he failed, he successfully
entered a second residence nearby. The 24-year-old local male transient was
arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. While in the jail he
resisted arrest and attempted to escape from the jail. These additional offenses were
added to his list of charges.
