Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, December 21st through Saturday, December 27th

For the period of Sunday, December 21st through Saturday, December 27th, the Police Department responded to 894 calls for service, of which 91 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.



Sunday, December 21:

At approximately 3:38 p.m., an officer responded to Zales, located at The Shops at

Santa Anita at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a grand theft incident. The

officer discovered a lone suspect stole two gold necklaces valued at nearly $7,300.00

when he asked to try them on. He is described as a Black male, approximately 25-

years-old, 5’5” tall, and 180 pounds.


Monday, December 22:

At approximately 12:36 p.m., an officer responded to CTBC Bank, located at 56 East

Duarte Road, regarding a vehicle burglary report. While the victim was sitting in her

vehicle, the suspect smashed a window and stole her purse. The investigation is

pending a review of surveillance footage.


Tuesday, December 23:

At approximately 8:08 p.m., an officer responded to Motel 6, located at 225 West

Colorado Boulevard, regarding a commercial burglary report. The victim stated he

stepped away from his unsecured room and while he was gone, someone entered

the room and stole bank paperwork.


Wednesday, December 24:

At approximately 12:20 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Wheeler

Avenue and Indiana Street near the metro plaza regarding a robbery. An

investigation revealed one suspect asked the victim for a cigarette when a second

suspect approached the victim from behind and punched him in the face. The

suspects stole cash from the victim’s wallet and fled. The victim drove himself to

Huntington Memorial Hospital to seek treatment.


Thursday, December 25:

At approximately 12:41 a.m., an officer responded to the area of Santa Anita Avenue

and Huntington Drive regarding a traffic collision. Upon contacting the driver, the

officer detected a strong odor of alcohol. Through a series of tests, the officer

determined the suspect was driving with a blood alcohol content of .134%. A records

check revealed the 40-year-old male from El Monte was driving with a suspended

license. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.


Friday, December 26:

At approximately 3:53 p.m., an officer responded to U Plus Fit, located at 1 West Duarte

Road, regarding a grand theft report. The victim stated she discovered an employee

stole nearly $7,600.00 over the last few months. The suspect is a 39-year-old female

from Arcadia. The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect is outstanding.


Saturday, December 27:

At approximately 7:03 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1900 block of

South Sixth Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. Surveillance footage captured

a lone suspect burglarizing the home and fleeing in a white SUV. The victim

discovered the suspect smashed a rear glass door and ransacked numerous rooms.

The loss is unknown at this time.
