Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, August 3rd through Saturday, August 9th

For the period of Sunday, August 3rd through Saturday, August 9th, the Police Department
responded to 928 calls for service, of which 105 required formal investigations. The following
is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, August 3:
At approximately 5:06 a.m., officers responded to The Shops at Santa Anita, located at 400
South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a solo traffic collision. During the field sobriety testing
process, the driver displayed a number of clues indicating he was under the influence of
alcohol. The 26-year-old male from Adelanto was arrested and transported to the Arcadia
City Jail for booking.
Monday, August 4:
At approximately 7:37 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of West
Huntington Drive regarding a domestic disturbance report. An investigation revealed an
altercation ensued between family members and one member was locked out of the house.
In an attempt to gather her belongings, the 35-year-old female kicked and shattered a glass
door and vandalized the home. She was arrested, issued a citation, and was transported by
Arcadia Fire to USC Arcadia Hospital for evaluation of a laceration.Tuesday, August 5:
At approximately 6:05 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of Vaquero
Road regarding a battery report. The officer discovered the victim, a contractor, was battered
by the homeowner over a payment dispute. The investigation is ongoing.
Wednesday, August 6:
At approximately 8:10 p.m., an officer responded to Victoria’s Secret, located at 400 South
Baldwin Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary incident. An investigation revealed two
male suspects stole more than $1,00.00 worth of merchandise. One suspect is described
as a “short” male, possibly White or Hispanic, wearing a dark hat and glasses. The second
suspect is described as a taller White male, wearing a baseball hat and grey colored polo
shirt.
Thursday, August 7:
At approximately 2:19 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2300 block of South
Fifth Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The officer determined sometime between
10:50 a.m. and 2:15 p.m., unidentified suspect(s) turned off the power to the home, picked
a lock to the rear door, and fled with costume jewelry.
Friday, August 8:
At approximately 10:40 a.m., an officer responded to Chase Bank, located at 700 West
Huntington Drive, regarding a trespassing report. After refusing to leave the location, the
suspect, a 53-year-old female from Long Beach, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia
City Jail for booking. During the booking process, the officer discovered she had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
Saturday, August 9:
At approximately 2:11 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front
counter regarding a mail theft report. The crime happened in the 800 block of Country Oaks
Circle. An investigation revealed a suspect stole mail from a community mailbox and fled in
an older model silver SUV. A similar incident was also reported recently by another resident
in the area.
