Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, April 26th through Saturday, May 2nd

For the period of Sunday, April 26th through Saturday, May 2nd, the Police Department responded to 988 calls for service, of which 100 required formal investigations. The
following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, April 26:
At approximately 2:57 p.m., an officer responded to a parking structure in the 00
block of Wheeler Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary report. Sometime between 1
p.m. and 2:50 p.m., an unidentified suspect smashed one of the windows of the
vehicle and stole a duffle bag containing electronics. A second burglary was
discovered in the same parking structure. The loss in that incident is unknown.
Monday, April 27:
At approximately 12:12 a.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 600
block of Las Tunas Drive for displaying an expired registration tag. The officer
conducted a records check on the occupants and discovered the driver, a 49-year-
old male from Los Angeles, was on probation and the passenger, a 46-year-old male
from Torrance, was on probation and had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
During a search of the vehicle, the officer located burglary tools, hand tools, copper
wiring, and air conditioning parts. Both suspects were arrested and transported to
the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Tuesday, April 28:
At approximately 9:37 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of La Porte Street
regarding a suspicious person loitering in front of a business. Upon contacting the
subject, the officer located drug paraphernalia. The 55-year-old male from Porter
Ranch also admitted to being in possession of methamphetamine. He was arrested
and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Wednesday, April 29:
At approximately 2:00 p.m., officers were conducting an operation where the
suspect, a 29-year-old male from Monrovia, solicited sex from someone who he
believed was a 13-year-old girl. The meeting occurred in the 500 block of San Luis
Rey Road. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for
booking.
Thursday, April 30:
At approximately 10:32 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of
California Street regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed a domestic
dispute escalated when the wife bit and scratched her husband. The 37-year-old
female from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for
booking.
Friday, May 1:
At approximately 11:24 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of West Foothill
Boulevard and Leandra Lane regarding a traffic collision. Upon contacting the driver,
the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the driver's breath. Through
a series of tests, the officer determined the driver was likely driving under the influence
of alcohol. The 19-year-old female from Duarte was arrested and transported to the
Pasadena Jail for booking.
Saturday, May 2:
At approximately 12:08 p.m., an officer responded to REI, located at 214 North Santa
Anita Avenue, regarding a petty theft report. The officer determined the suspect stole
miscellaneous camping supplies amounting to a loss of $290.00. The suspect is
described as a Black male, approximately 35 to 45-years-old, with a bald head, large
build, and wearing a green shirt and light-colored blue jeans.
