For the period of Sunday, November 2nd through Saturday, November 8th, the Police Department responded to 991 calls for service, of which 115 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled
by the Department during this period.
Sunday, November 2:
At approximately 12:02 a.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Huntington
Drive and Baldwin Avenue regarding a driver asleep at the wheel. Upon contacting
the 59-year-old male from Upland, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol
emitting from his breath. Through a series of tests, the officer concluded the driver
had a blood alcohol content of .10%. The suspect was arrested and transported to
the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Monday, November 3:
At approximately 4:09 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of
El Caballo Drive regarding an attempted stolen vehicle incident. The victim stated
sometime during the last 2-3 weeks, someone accessed his vehicle and attempted to
steal it.
Tuesday, November 4:
At approximately 3:42 p.m., an officer responded to 7-Eleven, located at 102 East
Huntington Drive, regarding an assault investigation. The officer discovered the
suspect attempted to steal merchandise and when the clerk attempted to confront
the suspect, the 36-year-old female from Duarte threw a canned beverage at the
clerk. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Wednesday, November 5:
At approximately 1:09 p.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of North First
Avenue regarding a robbery report. An investigation revealed the suspect followed
the victim and ultimately stole his briefcase. The 55-year-old male suspect from
Diamond Bar was located, arrested, and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for
booking.
Thursday, November 6:
At approximately 3:45 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of
West Longden Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. Sometime between 12:00
p.m. and 3:45 p.m., someone disabled the alarm system and burglarized the home.
Neighboring residents were able to provide valuable surveillance footage and the
investigation is ongoing.
Friday, November 7:
At approximately 1:25 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2500 block of
South Second Avenue regarding a petty theft report. The officer determined
unidentified suspects entered the home’s backyard, moved a lawnmower, then
returned the next day to steal the mower. The suspects are described as three males,
all wearing hats, face coverings, and gloves.
Saturday, November 8:
At approximately 2:15 p.m., an officer responded to a parking garage in the 00 block
of East Duarte Road regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed unknown
suspects entered a locked storage area and fled with tools and bicycles.
