For the period of Sunday, October 26th through Saturday, November 1st, the Police Department responded to 1,034 calls for service, of which 93 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, October 26:
At approximately 10:49 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of
Old Ranch Road regarding a battery investigation. The officer determined the wife
battered her husband leaving visible injuries. The 38-year-old female from Arcadia
was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Monday, October 27:
At approximately 6:05 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of
Walnut Avenue regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed that sometime
between October 24th and 27th, unknown suspects shattered a rear glass door,
ransacked the home, and fled with watches and handbags.
Tuesday, October 28:
At approximately 7:45 p.m., an officer responded Eisenhower Park, located at 601
North Second Avenue, regarding a grand theft incident. The officer discovered
someone stole two softball pitching machines valued at $2,000.00 each.
Wednesday, October 29:
At approximately 1:22 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1900 block of
Bella Vista Avenue regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed a DCFS social
worker responded to the location to conduct a welfare check and the parent
ultimately grabbed the social worker by the wrist, causing her pain. The parent, a 28-
year-old female from Arcadia, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail
for booking.
Thursday, October 30:
At approximately 4:23 p.m., an officer responded to Green Motion Rental, located at
102 Las Tunas Drive, regarding a embezzlement case. The officer determined a 39-
year-old female from Montclair rented a vehicle and failed to return it. The
investigation is ongoing, and the suspect is outstanding.
Friday, October 31:
At approximately 11:29 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of
North San Antonio Road regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed
unidentified suspects turned off the power to the home, shattered a rear glass door,
ransacked the home, and fled with various valuables.
Saturday, November 1:
At approximately 5:53 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s at The Shops at Santa
Anita, located at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft incident. A 78-year-old
female from Arcadia was found to be stealing numerous articles of clothing. She was
arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
