On Saturday, August 10, 2024, the inaugural City-Wide Health Fair took place at the Arcadia Community Center. The event was planned by the subcommittee of the City Council, the Health Committee along with members from the community as the Organizing Committee. To start off the event was the Keynote Speaker, Lieutenant General Mary K. Izaguirre who is the 46th Surgeon General of the U.S. Army and the Commanding General, U.S. Army Medical Command. Lieutenant General Izaguirre spoke to a packed audience in the Museum Education Center, which was then followed by two seminars for the public to attend. The event also hosted 45 different health related service booths, offering services such as: Mammograms, dental consultations, vision screening, mental health & drug overdose
services, podiatry, scoliosis screening, IVF & IUI information, urology, rheumatology, and dermatology, just to name a few.
The event had six primary sponsors for a total donation of $12,000. Breakfast and lunch were donated for first responders operating the consultation booths. It is estimated that 800 individuals attended the event over the three-hour period.
