AHS band movie seeks donations

Former Arcadia High School student JC Chang needs to raise about $4,000 more in less than a month to complete and distribute a feature-length documentary chronicling the 60-year history and lasting impact on students of the Arcadia High School Apache marching band and color guard.

Donations can be made by clicking here at fundraising site KickStarter.com, where more than $1,400 has already been donated by 45 contributors towards an all-or-nothing goal of $5,555. This story continues below the following 3 1/2-minute very impressive video teaser for “Tradition of Excellence,” featuring an introduction by Chang, terrific footage of the band’s performances this 2011-12 season, and powerful interviews of former and current members of the band and color guard. (If you can’t see video below, click to find it on Kickstarter page.)

More than a thousand people in attendance at last month’s annual fundraiser for the  AHS Apache band and color guard saw a terrific video tribute to retiring band director Tom Landes by “Tradition of Excellence” director/producer Chang, so we all know how good he is at video productions. He already has more than 1000 hours of footage and more than 30 interviews.
