ACA Hallowe’en fundraiser

The Arcadia Chinese Association (ACA) will embrace Hallowe’en as the theme for its annual fundraising gala dinner with a live band and dancing at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct 30 at the Arcadia Community Center, 365 Campus Dr.

The 30-year-old communitygroup plays an active role in supporting the community through volunteer workers as well as raising money for the Arcadia Police Department, Arcadia Fire Department, Arcadia Public Library, Arcadia Historical Museum, Arcadia Educational Function, Arcadia School District, Methodist Hospital of Arcadia, American Red Cross Arcadia Chapter, and Boy Scouts of America. Among the many events you will see ACA volunteers include Arcadia Law Day, Senior Citizens Appreciation Luncheon, and Arcadia City Employee Appreciation Luncheons.

In addition to creating events such as the annual Chinese New Year program at Westfield Santa Anita, the Mother’s Day Tea party, and political candidate forums, the ACA also formed the Senior Citizens Club and Community Business Committee to improve services to the city.

In order to continue these community activities, the non-profit ACA needs your tax-deductible donation that can be contributed via table sponsorships at the Oct. 30 program, an advertisement in the year book/directory, or by donating gifts for the raffle drawing. Sponsors and donors will be recognized at the Arcadia Chinese Association website, in the 1000 copies of our Yearbooks that will be distributed to the party’s 300 participants, and at other events of ACA throughout the year.

The flier for this year’s fundraiser event is below. Tickets are $50, or $65 for VIP seats. Social hour begins at 6:30 p.m. A costume is optional, and free masks will be available for those who do not wear a costume.

Call Amanda Chang: 446-6161, or Beryl Bai: 316-3999, or Josephine Louie: 625-8139.
