A Farewell to “Lucky” Baldwin

Elias Jackson Baldwin died at his home on his ranch on March 1, 1909. He was eighty-one years old and had crowded more things into those years than most men of his day. In the year preceding his death he had been conferring with his personal attorney, Bradner W. Lee in drawing up a will. The will intended to be as impervious to attacks as it possibly could, and through the five years of litigation, it proved to be well drawn. With all of the litigations Baldwin had endured, it was to his advantage to have his fortune distributed as he intended.
