A gala affair started years of activities for the Woman’s Club of Arcadia, when on Thursday, July 30, 1931, their new Clubhouse was dedicated. It’s brilliant opening was attended by visitors, guests and C.P. Cassady, builder. “ A delightful air of friendly congratulations prevailed with Mrs. Emma D. Meade, presidentially receiving, assisted by members of her board, in accordance with the best club traditions.
“Innumerable baskets of choicest blossoms added a colorful note, all being complimentary presentations to the club from business houses, organizations, and prominent citizens.” Arcadia Tribune, August 7, 1931.
Congratulations to the members of the Arcadia Woman’s Club for the 87 years of activities, both civic and club activities, hosted in this historic building. They have contributed to the betterment of the citizens of Arcadia.
