7 of 22 police checks in Arcadia

Four arrests were made Thursday (Dec. 16) as the result of several local cities working together to perform compliance checks at the 22 location and in the vehicles of 23 people on parole or probation or who have outstanding arrest warrants. Eighteen of the 23 subjects were contacted during the checks at 22 locations. Seven locations were in Arcadia, where a physical search of the location and the subjects vehicles were made based on their search conditions, according to Arcadia police. One of the four arrests was made in Arcadia. Most of the 23 targeted individuals are either Asian gang associates or sex registrants. The joint initiative was prompted by several incidents involving Asian gang members that occurred in Arcadia and Alhambra in late November. Arrests were made in those cases. In addition to the seven compliance check points in Arcadia last Thursday, there seven more in Rosemead; four in Alhambra; three in San Gabriel; and one in Temple City, with detectives from the Arcadia Police Department joined by personnel from State Parole, the Alhambra, Monterey Park, and San Gabriel Police Departments.

Results of the compliance checks resulted in: •    1 arrest for violation of parole •    1 arrest for a felony warrant and probation hold •    2 arrests for misdemeanor warrants •    Documentation for 1 violation of parole and 2 probation violations
