53 E. Huntington Drive: An Art Deco Treasure

This newspaper plant was built in 1930 as the headquarters of the Arcadia News and the Arcadia Journal. It was located next to Arcadia’s first City Hall building (1918-1948), and played an important part in shaping the City’s image. Over time, several printing firms occupied the building and in 1981 it became known as the “PIP Building” (Postal Instant Press). In recent years the building has had numerous owners, and all have proudly maintained the property’s iconic design. Today, the building houses the Chapman Funeral Home.
