4,000 enjoy Snow Fest

It appeared that more people were frolicking and enjoying the snow for free right here in Arcadia on Saturday, Dec. 6, than were in the local mountains spending money to wait in long ski lift lines.

An estimated 4,000 kids and parents crowded into the parking lot and lawn of the Community/Senior Center from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. to make and throw snowballs, ride sleds, make crafts, ride a train, or even have breakfast with Santa, all thanks to the Arcadia Recreation and Community Services Department.

The annual Holiday Snow Festival features 40 tons of snow shipped in for the event, which also included musicians playing holiday tunes, and food from the popular Grilled Cheese Truck.
