31 Heroes Tribute

A tribute to the 30 American men and one working dog who lost their lives while killed in action in Afghanistan on August 6 will be held in Monrovia Saturday, Sept. 3. 31 Heroes Tribute Workout benefits the families of these fallen heroes.

TEAM CrossFit Academy and Monrovia Weekly are sponsoring the program that will feature Monrovia Mayor Mary Ann Lutz, Representative Brian Mejia from Michael Antonovich’s office, retired and active members of the military including Navy Seals, military family members, personal Friends and associates of these lost heroes, and more surprise guests.

Hundreds are expected to attend the event that begins at 9 a.m. at Team CrossFit Academy, 130 E Walnut Ave in Monrovia — approximately 2,000 people have signed up so far around the country at  the more than 300 participating CrossFit Academy affiliates.  To date, more than $250,000.00 has already been raised according to the 31 Heroes Facebook page. All proceeds and donations are being forwarded to the Navy SEAL Founation which will dispurse the monies to assist the families of fallen heroes.

If participation isn’t possible donations can be made at www.navySEALfoundation.org or checks can made out to Navy SEAL Foundation and mailed to Beacon Media, 125 E Chestnut Ave, Monrovia, CA 91016. Checks will be forwarded to the foundation.
