The following video highlights of less than 2-minutes from the July 9, 2014 celebration of life for fallen Arcadia Fire Fighter/Paramedic Michael Phillip Herdman is set to the song that was sung during the service by Fire Administrative Specialist/Public Information Officer Beth E. Stogner.
Fire Chief Kurt Norwood was one of several speakers at the service attended by hundreds of fire firefighters from the region, as well as police officers, city officials, and many others in the community. Also seen and heard speaking in the video are Herdman’s mother, Debi Herdman, and his fire fighter friend Jeff Patterson.
Many of the attendees gathered for hours after the service at Matt Denny’s Ale House & Restaurant, a longtime supporter of Arcadia’s fire and police, where they enjoyed sharing many stories of the adventurous and fun-loving Herdman, who died just before his 34th birthday, leaving his wife since 2003, Bridget, and his seven-year-old daughter Sienna. — By Scott Hettrick
