The Irwindale Speedway came alive again last night under the umbrella of the new Irwindale Event Center.
Demolition Derby
A full house witnessed one of the most exciting evenings of races in many years. Jan’s Towing trucks were kept very busy hauling off the many cars involved in accidents, and that doesn’t count the final Demolition Derby contest.
There was also a crowd-favorite rocket car shooting out giant flames, and the evening ended with a spectacular and lengthy fireworks finale.
During the more than four hours of activities, attendees enjoyed the great food and drink offerings, from Mexican and BBQ pulled pork sliders in addition to the usual concessions of hot dogs, pretzels and tasty fries, to a choice of brews that included Blue Moon beer.
