Three intersections along Santa Anita Avenue from Colorado to St. Joseph will be completely closed to all east-west traffic for 11 hours on four consecutive nights next week for construction on the Gold Line light rail bridge over Santa Anita Avenue, it was announced this morning by the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority. Beginning Monday, Jan. 6, Santa Anita Ave between Colorado Blvd and Santa Clara St will experience nightly lane closures to allow crews to install the bridge deck beams at the newly-constructed Santa Anita Ave Bridge. During this nighttime and early morning work, Santa Anita Ave will be open to one lane of traffic in each direction, while the following intersections will be closed to thru-traffic:
Colorado Blvd & Santa Anita Ave
La Porte St & Santa Anita Ave
St Joseph St & Santa Anita Ave
Detour routes will be in place and signage will be posted to guide motorists and pedestrians around the construction activity.
